Bio:
Presently from Cocoa Beach, this
Florida semi-native originally from New Jersey has also resided
in Delaware.
Loretta Schnitzius has taught at the Brevard
Museum of Art & Science, Foosner Wing and has done numerous
workshops and demonstrations throughout the area.
Her paintings can be found in numerous
international, private and corporate collections. She was
cover artist for the Indialantic Rotary Calendar and poster
artist for the Space Coast Art Festival. Her work was selected
for Art in Public Places.
She is a Signature Member of the Florida
Watercolor Society, a member of the National League of American
Pen Women, and The Wednesday Group. Her work can be viewed
at the 5th Avenue Art Gallery, 1470 Highland Ave., Melbourne,
FL and Virginia Miller Gallery, 169 Madiera, Coral Gables,
FL.
Statement:
Loretta Schnitzius considers herself
a watercolor purist. Her work displays a vibrant interplay
between black and write, shadow and sun, combining the rich
colors and textures occurring in nature. She has place high
in juried shows all along the Eastern seaboard.
